I will post some past notes here as I find them. This first dates from 2008 and relates to discussion of the cockade.
In Garrard The Crown Jewellers for 150 Years 1843 1993 by Charlotte Gere and John Culme with William Summers, 1993, there are some interesting details about the 1858 orders, such as - "The rubies from the Lahore Treasury, including the Timur, were reset in gold and diamonds, with three pendants two of which were detachable to be worn as earring drops, the third being a flat diamond drop taken from the centre of a brilliant cockade in five pieces. The cockade was made up with a cluster of Crown diamonds."
