But she did not sell any of them. They would have raised a pretty penny for her charities as her dresses did. I think that the jewels were recognised by Diana as hers for her lifetime and then to be passed to her sons for their wives. In that way they were recognised as gifts to the wife of the PRince of Wales and mother of future monarchs.
