Queen Sonja's amethysts and aquamarinesArchived Message

While trying to find if Queen Sonja had previously worn the diamond Greek lyre brooch which we could see in Staret's thread http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/thread/1440368889.html (many thanks for the screen shot Arthur) I saw photos of Queen Sonja wearing the same costume, but with different jewels, on several occasions.
Unfortunately, so far, I have not found photos of HM wearing the brooch previously.
Her jewels worn with this costume in 2004 in Vietnam caught my attention as, although the photos are all taken by the same photographer, the earrings show different colours. I suspect it is the design (and the mixture of different stones in the upper section of the earrings) plus the light which has caused this.
After looking at several photos, I have discounted the notion that this set of earrings has different stones on each side of the upper elements, although I realise that so often in modern jewels there are deliberate contrasts in gem colours.
I think it is a striking example of how the camera can trick us.
I suspect the jewels are a mixture of crystals, amethysts and aquamarines or possibly green amethysts. I wonder what others think.
