The Hope Spinel is to be auctioned this month.

I realise it is not a royal jewel but the article in the Bonhams' report has sufficient mention of associated royal spinels that I think it is worthwhile posting on this board.

Some of the gems with royal connections in the original Hope collection are new to me.
