Hello, Ella Kay, I fear that your first link does not work. About the tiara, you could be right, as this impressive tiara could be worth a Tsar's gift. But am not totally sure, because of the size of the stones of the top row of the tiara: in my opinion, they look too large to be diamonds (or they would be really huge diamonds!). Aquamarines or sapphires are probably a more plausible option - but then it would not match the description of the Tsar's gift given in the articles you quote. Besides, this tiara was accompanied by a necklace and a brooch of matching design, thus forming a parure, whereas your articles only mention a tiara. On this picture, we can also distinguish a matching brooch on the Princess' corsage: And the necklace looks like a sapphire and diamond one, and not an all-diamond one (though I am not totally sure if the following picture is a genuine colour picture, or a colorized B&W picture): Other jewels worn by Princess Alice include: - the Meander tiara, now owned and frequently worn by Princess Anne:
- a tiara made of six-pointed stars in octogonal frames: Apparently, this tiara can also be worn as a necklace, like on this picture of Prince Andrew's and Princess Alice's wedding: - a loop tiara (possibly a part of the first tiara mentioned above?): Edit: as reminded by other posters in this thread, this picture is a photoshopped picture, from the first tiara mentioned above)
