QEII's sapphire bracelet - mystery (partially) solved? Archived Message

In 2012, Angela Kelly published in her book Dressing The Queen - The Jubilee Wardrobe several pictures of the jewels belonging to Queen Elizabeth II, including several jewels rarely or even never seen.

Among these rarely-seen jewels are several bracelets, pictured on page 85:

I have been particularly puzzled by the sapphire and diamond bracelet (the last but one at the bottom of the series, with a large octogonal sapphire). Indeed, I have never seen Queen Elizabeth II wearing this bracelet - her other sapphire and diamond parures all include a bracelet, so this one is never seen (as far as I know - please correct me if I am wrong on that).

But I have found recently this picture of Queen Mary with her young granddaughter Princess Elizabeth of York, i.e. the current Queen. And the bracelet Queen Mary wears on her right arm seems to be the same as the one pictured above, if I judge from the octogonal shape of the central coloured stone and from the decreasing width of the bracelet from the centre on.

So the sapphire bracelet pictured in Angela Kelly's book could be from Queen Mary. What do you think?
