After looking at the crown Kongetro and Josefine posted, I realised that I am rather ignorant about parts of the structure of these Swedish crowns. It seems to me that there is an inner cap with material covering a rather rigid structure, unlike the floppy cap of estate structure in British crowns. I realise I might be very mistaken, which is one reason for my query. More importantly, I have the impression that there is gold metal work on the material covering the inner cap. Does anyone know how the crowns are constructed - apart from the obvious metal work of the frames and the inclusion of various gems on the frame? Edit: My questions should have been - Is there gold metal work attached to what I think is blue cloth on the inner cap of the crowns? Secondly, how is this attached to the inner cap?
