Right, it appears to be a private exhibition - I don't see cases surrounding the items. They seem so casually displayed!

If anyone knows more about this event, please let us know

: I too am intrigued by this photo, particularly
: George V's Prince of Wales' coronet resting
: on a cushion on the floor. Unless this is a
: replica, had the impression that after the
: Abdication, the Duke of Windsor took this
: particular piece of the Regalia with him,
: and it not seeing the light of day again
: until after his death in 1972 --
: necessitating the design of the coronet for
    : Prince Charles.

: My apologies Paisley. I should try to
    : remember
: to post some details for those who are
    : interested.

: I am intrigued as to why there was a display
: in 1951 of the Coronation items from 1937.
: As it appears that the display was at St
: James' Palace, I suspect it was probably not
: for the public - but that is just a guess,
: and may not be accurate. It would be
: interesting to know if the crowns, as well
: as the coronets worn by QEII and Princess
: Margaret, were displayed. Somehow, I suspect
: that they were not (or at least not the
    : King's and Queen's crowns).
