Thank you Arthur, never seen this star brooch before! From the pic it seems Queen Sofia's brooch is larger than the one on QMC pic, they are beautiful. Pity its not worn often.

Indeed it was not an exhaustive coverage of the Queens jewels, far from it,as I posted above HM has a vast collection of classical and royal inheritance jewelry, as well as many gifts, and also more modern jewels she wears for daytime events.

Here are some more of her not so often seen jewelry:

A beautiful diamond necklace worn mainly in the begining of the reign, its not seen in years.

Also not seen in years this big brooch with a redish stone (what stone could it be? rubi? spinel? I find it too big and clear to be a rubi...this one is a mistery to me)

Open diamond brooch, worn in her younger years as princess of Greece and first years of marriage, not seen in years resurfaced in 1994 for the state banquet of the Hungarian visit.

Two similar (but not identical) circle brooches, one with rubis and another with sapphires, worn on her engagement day. It seems that the rubi one was lent to the Pss of Astúrias in 2007 for the state banquet of the Slovakian visit.

Rarely worn, her mother Queen Frederika's diamond clips.

Some more rarely seen saudi gifts, worn for the Kings visit to Spain in 2001. Carved emeralds and tuttifrutti gems brooches and bracelet set.

    Middle eastern gift diamond set.

An Indian set, worn on a visit to India, and rarely seen.

    A diamond flower brooch.

And to include some favourite pieces, the queens canary diamonds set. The necklace was a favourite of the queen mainly in the 1990's and early 2000's..

Not as expensive as the previous but also a favourite of the queen for some time, she even wore it for a state banquet and a jordanian royal wedding, the rock cristal and multigem set. It includes earrings, necklace, bracelet and a big pendant that can be worn as brooch (rarely seen as such).

Many, many more jewelry pieces are on the queen's vaults. Presently HM prefers mainly modern pieces for daytime events.

: Thank you, Crisitina, for this beautiful (and
: probably not exhaustive) insight into Queen
    : Sofia's jewel collection. A very large

: I am puzzled by another brooch worn very

: I think this could be this brooch, here worn
