Many thanks LDMJ. I value your opinion. I suspect that, after the recent article in the Royals magazine as mentioned by Franck, some board members might now accept that Queen Alexandra had two colliers resille. But, as this was not stated, I wondered if some still had reservations, as the question of the second necklace had previously been disputed in the thread to which I posted the links. One factor which might still lead posters to question whether Queen Alexandra had two such necklaces is the question which was raised in the previous discussion relating to Hans Nadelhoffer's book - were the captions under the two necklaces mixed up? As I have not read his book, I am not in a position to judge. It is also the reason why I am trying to see how other authors have done their research. (In my opinion it is entirely acceptable for authors to use and refer to the research of earlier authors) If the various authors refer only to what was said in Hans Nadelhoffer's book, then the question might still be contentious - depending on what Nadelhoffer actually said in his text, and if he gave any supporting references. On the other hand, if the later authors attribute their comments to direct research in Cartier's archives, then that would indicate to me that Queen Alexandra did have 2 separate necklaces of this style made by Cartier. I realise that board members cannot post a copy of images in the various publications because of copyright issues, but I was hoping that, through a process of elimination, we could decide if your image showed the second necklace. I would like to think that is the case. If so, I wonder if the necklace still exists, or perhaps it has been dismantled.
