Hi Beth I would not describe the Queen Alexandra swags and bows as a resille, even though it is. I refer to this necklace as Queen Alexandra's Garland necklace just to keep the two pieces distinct. The following is from Cartier in the 2oth Century page 20. "Garland-style jewelry was initially Cartier's signature product. It perfectly complemented the high-fashion gowns of the day, which featured sumptuous fabrics and close-fitting bodices with low, square necklines. The garland style was in some ways conservative, inspired by the diamond-encrusted jewelry of Louis XVI's eighteenth-century French court. Flowers, leafy branches, and baskets (fig 1) were popular elements (hence the "garland" descriptor), as were bows (fig. 3), stars, scrolls, and meander patterns. Inspiration was also derived from architectural ornamentation..." When I look at the necklace I see the bows and swags over the "hairnet" design which is why it is Queen Alexandra's Garland necklace to me. Laura
