Was the emerald cross not used to create the emerald peacock tiara?
--Previous Message-- : Astrid had quite a number of jewels not all : have a known track record and plenty of them : have unknown whereabouts. : : : 1) Tiara of the Nine Provinces (from the : Belgians now with Queen Mathilde) : 2) Stockholm tiara (from the citizens of : Stockholm last seen on princess Lilian) : 3) Art deco bandeau (from Queen Elisabeth : now with Queen Paola) : 4) Diamond and large emerald tiara (from : Albert I and Elisabeth not seen on Astrid or : since) : 5) Emerald necklace/tiara (from Albert I and : Elisabeth on the birth of Boudewijn, current : owner unknown) : 6) Diamond riviere (from Gustav V of Sweden : current owner unknown) : 7) diamond and emerald bracelet/choker (from : Albert I and Elisabeth now with the Grand : Duke of Luxembourg) : 8) Emerald earrings (from her parents now : with Grand Duke of Luxembourg) : 9) Diamond and emerald cross (from her : mother current owner?) : : Would be nice if we found out more about who : owns these pieces today and see them worn : again. : : I'd like to see Queen Mathilde with the : diamond and emerald necklace/tiara together : with the Spanish wedding gift tiara as a : coronet with the green stones and the large : emerald and pendant previously worn by : Elisabeth and Lilian and possibly earlier : belonging to the countess of Flanders. : : : --Previous Message-- : That piece crossed my mind as a possibility. : Here's the Luxarazzi post on the necklace . : But I think there are a couple of things : that don't match up: : : -- It's said to have been either a gift from : Queen Elisabeth on the birth of : Josephine-Charlotte or a present from : Leopold III. : -- I've never read that it could be worn as : a tiara, only as a necklace/bracelet. : -- The emerald is lovely, but is it really : "large"? I don't know! :-) : : :
