On page 100 of Tiaras A History of Splendour Munn describes one of QV's tiaras as--- "A diadem of 15 points, each point composed of a pearl between 2 Emeralds set in gold wire, between each point a large lask diamond surrounded by 7 others rather smaller, the diadem set on a band of lask diamonds."
Munn's endnote states that this jewel was given to Princess Louise Margaret of Russia [sic] (I presume this is a typo and Prussia was intended) on 12 March 1879.
The description of lask diamonds suggests a jewel of Indian origin, but this tiara is obviously not the one which QV gave to the Duchess of Albany.
Tiara given to Duchess of Albany by QV - now back in the Royal Collection
Has anyone ever seen an image of the tiara given to the Duchess of Connaught?
