It's not unusual for princesses to wear dresses worn by a previous generation. At the Stuyvesant Ball in New York princess Margriet of the Netherlands wore a dress previously worn by her mother the late Queen Juliana in the early 1970's. Margriet has also worn other pieces originally belonging to her mother and grandmother. Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands had a court train made for her mother Queen Emma as part of her wedding trousseau. Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg wore a gown previously worn by her aunt queen Fabiola of the Belgians so if Catherine decided to wear a dress for her late mother-in-law she would not be the first royal to do so. Grand Duchess Kyra Kirilovna of Russia wore a court dress of her grandmother as her wedding dress. --Previous Message-- : : Oh please. Let's not spoil this occasion. :
