The last time the brazilian topazes were used was to create a parure for Empress Marie-Louise which of course was dismantled after the fall of Napoléon 😟 The stones were not used by the duchess of Angoulême or the Duchess of Berry neither by empress Eugenie Queen Marie-Amelie didn't use the state jewels during the reign of her husband. The 8 round emeralds were mounted on the crown of Napoléon III. The crown has disappeared but the stones still exist I have to check for the amethysts -Previous Message-- : : Thank you Lorenzo. I have found looking at : your recent posts showing these unmounted : gems very interesting. How lucky you are to : be able to see these in person. I am : thankful that the Museum has decided to : exhibit more of these gems. : : Thank you so much for sharing them with us. : I, for one, would not know about these gems : except for your posts. : : I am intrigued as to why so many beautiful : gemstones were not mounted in jewels - but I : suspect there is no simple explanation. :
