I can understand Arthur's skepticism, as the photo I posted challenges the accepted version of the history of this jewel. And, of course, as no one has read this in a published book or even a gossip magazine, I knew that many would instinctively dismiss what I posted.
The database I used is held by the National Library of Australia and is the same one used throughout the world, so posters can check for themselves -- if they wish. Unfortunately, this database is not part of the Trove system which anyone, any where in the world, can access, and so I cannot provide an internet link to the material.
For those who do not have access to the database, I will post a series of screen shots. These may or may not satisfy others that the date I gave is what was recorded when the paper was published.
I believe that the database is reliable. Nothing is changed in the digitisation process.
