The language is OK. Many of us think spikes go on top. Actually the word "bars" which I used is not quite right. "Supports" connecting tiara and base would be better, I think, but getting a bit technical. No doubt someone else will provide a better word.
--Previous Message-- : As a non native english speaker I most likely : did not select the most correct word to : describe those bars, but indeed : "spikes" was the word that came to : my mind when I saw the picture and thought : how they looked ugly on such a beautiful : tiara . : : I do think CP Mary owns the necklace/tiara, : but I would love to know about its : provenance. Perhaps a gift from her hubby to : celebrate some special ocasion? From some : auction? The design certainly looks : classical. Again, I find it very beautiful. : More than the small bridal necklace/tiara. : : : : --Previous Message-- : : Thanks for the pic. I felt the enquiry was : about the word "spikes". : : Actually, I would have thought that Mary was : now so experienced at wearing tiaras that : she would have ensured the bars were hidden. : Perhaps it is not her tiara, to have : adjusted. Her hairdo she can have control : over of course. But the bars are a bit long! : : :
