I wonder if anyone has ever seen a brooch on Queen Mary or other royal ladies which would match the description of a brooch given to HM by the Corporation of Edinburgh in July 1911.

The Times 20 July 1911 provided the context

while The Courier and Argus [Dundee] 20 July 1911 provided a description.
