I had seen this necklace at the time of the Qatar visit to Spain, but I must confess that I am not a great fan of this jewel.
Personally, I do not like colour stones on their own, without diamonds motifs. It would have been much nicer a necklace in the style of those worn by Princess Michael of Kent, with beads of colour precious or semi-precious stones, separated by diamond clips or brooches, in order to give some light to the dark beads.
I do not like Queen Sofia's combination of emerald beads with pearls, I would have used diamonds only to lighten up the dark emeralds.
