Thank you for this fantastic collage! There are several brooches that I had not even noticed until now!

I have unfortunatley very little information about these brooches, which are probably private gifts or personal acquisitions by Queen Silvia. The style of these brooches is very eclectic, I like it.

I only know that the "Edelweiss" brooch (6th picture of the top first row of pictures) was a gift from the Austrian government during the Swedish State visit to Austria in 1979. According to my notes, this lovely brooch is made of carved enamel and jade, diamonds and sapphires (I actually wonder if the petals could be made of engraved cristal, or nephrite, rather than carved enamel...). There is a pair of matching earrings too.

Interestingly, Queen Sofia of Spain owns a brooch of very similar design - except that there are only two flowers, not three, and the centre of the flowers is made of rubies, instead of sapphires! I don't though, though, if this Spanish brooch has the same origin as the Swedish one.
