I must agree with Clementine. If you share something online, it is there forever and is a free-for-all scenario. It would impossible to legislate or to manage. If you don't want your findings to spread around the world - don't post them on a public, open, notice board....
That's the way the Web works - always has and almost certainly always will, for all eternity.
--Previous Message-- : Dear Beth, I always enjoy your contributions. : But your latest post leaves me speechless : : 1/ Where do you think you are ? We are on : the Web, which means that almost everything : belongs to everyone. You can regret it, : however it is the case forever ! And to be : honest, I have seen contributions from other : websites being reproduced here without any : acknowledgment, too. It's a two-way street : : 2/ Who do you think you are ? A researcher ? : Just because you pointed out a detail from a : news article ? But this article, you found : it on the Web : everyone has had the : possibility to read it before you. Who tells : us that the detail you 'discovered' has not : been already discovered, but in another : website or blog ? As interesting as RJWMB : can be, it is not the centre of the world. : Clever and smart people can also be found : elsewhere, you know ! : : I apologize for my frankness, Beth. But your : request looks to me a presumptuous and a : clan-based reaction : : :
