Most European monarchies still use tiara's on incoming State Visits and other grand events. In Sweden there is the annual Nobel ceremony, in the UK the State opening of parliament and in Norway the government dinner. The Dutch royals put on their tiara's for the diplomatic dinner. Leaving enough events in the calendar to view tiara's. Besides all those couples who got married in the last few decades will celebrate their wedding anniversaries in a decade or so. Giving us even more to look forward too. --Previous Message-- : Also Queen Margrethe will turn 80 in 4 years. : But apart from that? Tiara events are : getting scarce, and the royal houses are : also down-scaling their events. White tie is : replacing black tie (like it just happened : in Sweden), tiara-owning ladies decide to : leave their tiaras in the safe and go : without... The glittering age seems to come : to an end, it seems. I'm not sure that the : next generation of Scandinavian royals will : continue to host big tiara events. : : Yes, there will still be royal brides : wearing tiaras, bridal tiaras are very : popular at the moment. But I'm sure that : Maria Olivia meant those events where the : guests as well don their finest jewels and : wear tiaras. :
