A huge pear-shaped pearl from the Crown jewels collection, sometimes called (erroneously) "la Régente" (by analogy with the "Regent" diamond). It was presented by Napoleon I to Marie-Louise as the centre of a pearl and diamond tiara, then mounted by Empress Eugenie as the centre of a large corsage brooch. The corsage brooch has disappeared, but the pearl was sold at auction by Christie's in November 2005:
