Sorry that I cannot take time out right now to trawl through Roberts, but my recollection is that pearl drops and finials were moved about and between various jewels by Queen Mary at various times and it is a complex story. I just offer these two extracts from work by Boffer. Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara - In 1914 this tiara was altered by Garrard, as the 14 pearl finials were removed to be used in the new Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara Lover's Knot tiara - ...by 1932, all the pearl finials were made detachable, and were permanently removed. The pearl pendants were thus restored to Queen Mary’s Pearl Stomacher, Queen Mary’s Town of Richmond Brooch and Queen Mary’s Women of Hampshire Brooch.
