About the royals not spending big money on jewels, I do so wish they would occasionally. However, in current times I believe they, the European royals particularly, are very conscious of worthy causes being more important and personal adornment could be criticised. Yet it is the fact that royals do wear glorious jewels that attracts attention, and to the worthy causes they patronise.
