Thank you very much, Kongetro and Beth, for sharing these unknown pictures of QEQM wearing the Cartier Halo tiara.
I am quite puzzled that Queen Elizabeth II, who received this tiara as an 18th birthday gift in 1944, never wore it and loaned it from the early 1950s to her sister. Reason for my surprise is that, until she became Queen in 1952, the then Princess Elizabeth wore only two of the four tiaras she had at her disposal (the Girls of Great-Britain and Ireland's Tiara and the Nizam of Hyderabad's Tiara) and never the other two (the Cartier Halo Tiara, and Princess Alice of Greece's Meander Tiara, later given, and frequently worn, by Princess Anne), which is quite strange, IMO...
