I wonder if this image from the Illustrated London News 19 May 1934 might help. The occasion was at the Albert Hall. I will see tomorrow if I can find another photo.
--Previous Message-- : What an interesting puzzle we have. I hope : someone can find other photos of the same : evening which might help us. : : Kongetro do the photo captions give any : additional information about the event or : the precise date? Such information might : help in tracking down other photos. : : --Previous Message-- : : It looks like we have another mystery tiara : to find! : The shape of the pearls does not resemble : the drops in either the Vladimir or the : Lovers Knot tiaras, they both have pear : shaped drops and these pearls appear more : rounded. Also the Lovers Knot tiara has a : clear bow and large round diamonds framing : it, this photograph does not appear to show : this. I have enlarged the photograph and : can see that it is definitely not the : lozenge tiara with pearl spikes. The brooch : is definitely that from Queen Alexandra's : wedding parure. If only the photograph was : clearer!! : --Previous Message-- : I came across this photo of King George V : and : Mary dated 1934 taken during a gala : performance. According to the caption their : daughter Princess Royal is also present. : However, between the King and Queen is : Princess Paul of Yugoslavia and on the : Queen's left sits Prince Paul. So the lady : which is a bit more difficult to identify : clearly (the one sitting to the King's : right) must be the Princess Royal. : Is it at all possible to work out which : jewels they are wearing? The only tiara I am : able to identify clearly is the one worn by : Princess Paul. Is the Queen wearing the : Lover's Knot tiara? : I am very grateful for any help on this. : : : : : : : :
