The exhibition is called 'Van Cleef & Arpels: The Art & Science of Gems' and it's at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from April 23rd to August 14th. It features over 450 pieces of jewellery from the Van Cleef & Arpels collection and 250 gems from the French National Museum of Natural History.
If features many royals jewels but the most important thing I noticed was Queen Nazli of Egypt's diamond necklace. If you remember it was auctioned at Sotheby's this past December and according to the jeweller's instagram post from two days ago is was "recently acquired by the Maison as part of its private collection." This makes me very, very happy that such an important piece is safely in the hands of Van Cleef & Arpels and can be lent out for our viewing pleasure!
pic from here "Wedding set Platinum, pearls, diamonds. 1953-1956 FROM VAN CLEEF & ARPELS COLLECTION Belonging to the Private Collection of Her Serene Highness Grace of Monaco in the Principality of Monaco, this wedding set was created for HSH Prince Rainier of Monaco as a wedding gift, when he married the celebrated American actress Grace Kelly." In the caption for this picture is says "From Van Cleef & Arpels Collection." Does this mean the the princley family no longer owns these pieces?
