How did Queen Alexandra normally wear this tiara? Archived Message

I am now intrigued as to how Queen Alexandra normally wore this tiara.

When the press reported the gift for her silver wedding anniversary, the tiara was depicted as a halo. For example as per the sketch in the Illustrated London News of 17 March 1888.

Yet, the only photo I am aware of showing Queen Alexandra wearing the tiara shows her wearing it on a coronet style frame.

Roberts says on page 102 that, in HM's inventory, the tiara was photographed as a necklace. He does not give any information about frames the Queen may have used or had at her disposal to convert it into a tiara.

By the time Queen Louise was photographed with the tiara, it had been shortened and was on a more conventional frame which suggests to me that possibly Queen Alexandra may have worn it in that style also. But, it is possible that, despite having had a self adjusting frame added around 1895, the flexibility of the setting allowed the Queen to continue wearing it in various configurations by mounting it on different frames.

On most occasions when the press reported on her jewels after she became queen it is difficult to judge what tiara she wore as the press tended to say only that she wore a diamond tiara. Yet, on one or two occasions I noted that the reference was to a Russian style tiara and so I wonder if Queen Alexandra did wear this jewel in the same manner as her mother, Queen Mary and QEII?

Has anyone else seen references suggesting how HM might have worn this tiara?
