The Windsor Cartier necklace was exactly the piece I was thinking when reading on the amethyst and turquoise combination. I must admit that when I saw pictures of it I always thought it was not my favourite piece of jewelry. It looked very heavy looking. However, some years ago I had the chance to see it live (along with several other Cartier pieces) and I have to say that is simply magnificent, absolutely breathtaking. Indeed it would need a woman with a strong caracter to wear it. I can only imagine the Duchess of Windsor walking into a glittering room wearing this necklace, that would have been a sight. --Previous Message-- : Amethysts and turquoises are quite a rare : combination, and a modern one (i.e. mostly : from not earlier as the mid-20th century). : The colours of these stones are in sharp : contrast, and therefore can be considered as : clashing colours.
