It's good to know you are trying to identify most of Princess Mary's wedding gifts through pictures, Beth! Speaking of the photo in No. #2 in your earlier post (when showing the bracelet given to Mary by the Prince of Wales), I think maybe the ring she was wearing in the photo might be the gift given to her by her other brothers (The Duke of York, Prince Henry and Prince George) because as I mentioned in my post, the newspaper said the gift was a ring made of diamonds and sapphires (the same stones as those of the gift of Prince of Wales). --Previous Message-- : : I have been intrigued by some of the jewels : I have seen Princess Mary, the Princess : Royal, Countess of Harewood photographed : wearing. : : I wonder if some of the following are : matches? : : 1. Princess Mary's large pearl bracelet . : : : According to the Illustrated London News : 11 March 1922 the jewel on the left on the : lower shelf in the photo below is the pearl : bracelet from Mrs Ronald Greville. Mrs : Greville is the only one listed in the : official list published in the Times who : gave a pearl bracelet. : : : : The photo which Arthur recently posted of : the royal wedding gifts gives a better view. : : : : : I find it very hard to see the details of : this bracelet (and so I know what I am going : to suggest is difficult to prove) but I : wonder if Mrs Greville's gift might be the : large pearl bracelet which Princess Mary was : photographed wearing on a few occasions? : : The bracelet does appear to have a large : clasp and the right number of rows of : pearls. : : : : Bracelet on Princess Mary's left wrist. : : : Bracelet on Princess Mary's right wrist : : : : : 2 The sapphire and diamond bracelet given : by the Duke of Windsor as a wedding gift. : : I suspect this is the modern narrow diamond : and sapphire bracelet HRH wore on some : occasions when she was photographed wearing : her sapphire parure. : : Illustrated London News 11 March 1922 : : : : : : 3. Emerald brooch given by the Isle of Man : to the Princess as a wedding present. : : The Times 22 February 1922. : : : The following is pure speculation -- I : wonder if the brooch, which Princess Mary is : wearing on the middle of her dress in the : photo below, might have been the Manx : brooch. : : : Photo initially posted by Arthur a few days : ago. : : :
