Released to the press from the upcoming publication released this week are some stunning images of the jewels. It has also been revealed that Angela Kelly played a key role in the upcoming publication in her capacity as 'Curator of the Queen's Jewellery'. And that over 100 pieces will be featured in the new publication. Including: The Greville Tiara The Girls of Great Britain Tiara Queen Mary's Stomacher The Flame Lilly Brooch The Lover's Knot Brooch The Williamson Brooch The Delhi Durbar Necklace The Nizam of Hyderbad Necklace The Emperor of Austria Brooch (Previously known to us as the 'Teck Corsage Brooch', I am sure more information about the previously unknown provenance of this piece will be revealed.) The Maple Leaf Brooch The Vladimir Tiara The Nizam of Hyderbad Flower Brooches Also to be included will be the King Khalid Necklace, which was presented to the Queen during a visit to Saudi Arabia in 1979. The press release also contained additional information on the Queen Victoria Fringe Brooch (Taken from the Daily Mail: Queen Victoria’s Fringe Brooch, a stunning flower-cum-jellyfish which resulted from a visit by Sultan Abdul Mejid I of Turkey in 1856. Wanting to thank the Monarch for Britain’s role in the Crimean War, he gave her a set of diamonds — ‘very magnificent,’ she wrote. The wire base has been photoshopped out of that image for aesthetic reasons, as it is the image used for the cover of the book. Amazon just informed me that I will be getting my book by the 10th May. Have the Royal Collection made it clear at all when the web-exhibition will be launched. To coincide with the publication of the book this month, or to coincide with the actual exhibition in July? This is information that has already been released by the Royal Collection, back in 2007 on the web-exhibiton to coincide with the 1947 Wedding Exhibition: "The stomacher is formed as three linked brooches which can be worn separately. Made for Queen Mary in 1920 with diamonds from two of her wedding presents: the ‘Kapurthala’ stomacher and the ‘Town of Swansea’ crescent, both given in 1893. In 1920, this enormous stomacher was already not very up to date, the piece of jewellry is beautiful of course but what a pity to have broken up the Kapurthala stomacher. It is unclear which of the stomachers that Queen Mary wore was the Karpurthala Stomacher. My belief is that is it this stomacher, which has not been seen since it was worn by the then Duchess of Cornwall; and is thus a likely candidate for being broken up.

I remember when the information, that Queen Mary's Diamond Stomacher was made from diamonds from the Kapurthuala Stomacher, was released in 2007 by the Royal Collection on the web-exhibiton. There was much speculation as to which piece was the Kapurthuala Stomacher. After discussion here on these boards, I myself dug up that image of Queen Mary and cropped it down into the image of just the stomacher, as a suggestion for the possible Kapurthuala Stomacher. This is now the piece that many believe is the most likely candidate. However, there has never been any definitive proof, either released from the Royal Collection or a contemporary source, such as a sketch or detailed description of the original Kapurthuala Stomacher, that was presented to the then Duchess of York on occasion of her wedding in 1893, to give a completely definitive answer. This is just an educated guess. We await someone to uncover a contemporary source, or the Royal Collection to release information until we can be completely sure that the stomacher worn by the then Duchess of Cornwall in that image, is indeed the Kapurthuala Stomacher. EDIT: This has now been confirmed as the Kapurthala Stomacher. Flame lily brooch

After comparing this newest photo of the Queen’s flame lily brooch (left) with old pics, it now seems close to certain to me that the three brooches of the Queen, Queen Mother and Princess Margaret are identical. I have never seen a closeup of the Queen Mother's brooch, but I recently found pics of Princess Margaret wearing her flame lily. Princess Margaret left in 1954 and right in 1955
