The Marchioness of Cambridge (wife of Queen Mary's nephew). I love that tiara as well as Benedikte's. It's kind of odd and awkward yet has nice stones and pearls.

Princess Juliana wore the items which are together known as the Grand Parure of Diamonds and Sapphires, partly designed by Oscar Masin and made by Mellerio dits Meller 1881, Paris in almost complete form (diadem, collier, corsage de devant, two giant bracelets, etc.).

I don't think Maud's tiara had a name, but it was amethyst. I think we (this board) think it was part of the set from Queen Alexandra. Princess Olga of Yugoslavia is wearing the ruby parure inherited from her grand-mother Olga and bought back by Paul and Frederika.

I think I have found a match for a tiara worn by one of the Peeresses on the pavement. Thank you for all the thanks. Might as well have a few more. On their way to the Abbey. Queen Elizabeth was bareheaded. On their way home with Grandmama I don't believe the caps were made but these simply illustrate the coronets to which the Princesses were entitled. Note the extensive annexe to the Abbey which was constructed for the occasion.

Showing Crown Princess Märtha using the emeraldparure she - at the outbreak of WWII -received from her mother Princess Ingeborg. Wonder why the lovely pearl tiara (now only existing as a replica since the original was stolen/vanished while being at Garrards') and which Queen Maud received upon her marriage wasn't used/'lent to' CP Märtha at this Coronation, so as to emphasise the close family bonds ....

I noticed that the Great George worn by the King was unusual so tried the Royal Collection gallery, and sure enough there is a story. This historic Lesser George (intended to be worn on the sash at the hip) was worn by the King as a Great George (suspended from the collar) for his coronation. http://www.royalcollection.org.uk/collection/441145

Maybe Martha wore the emerald parure because it had appeared at the previous coronation in 1911? That's a nice mark of continuity.

(last photo) Top row from left: Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway, Crown Prince Gustav and Crown Princess Louise of Sweden, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark....these I recognize, but I am trying to figure out who this next royal couple is...the ones standing on the left side of Princess Ingrid. Anyway, Olav, Louise, and Ingrid were directly descended from Britain's Queen Victoria (all of them were her great-grandchildren). Martha, Frederik, and Gustav were descended directly from much earlier British monarchs. Thanks Boffer. It is interesting to note that Queen Elizabeth wore diamonds for her coronation that had been in the Garter badge worn by the King for his coronation. Following the success of the Hanoverian claim against Queen Victoria in 1857 - as a result of which the Queen lost to Hanover a significant part of the family jewels - the nine large brilliant-cut diamonds surrounding the figure of St George were removed by R. & S. Garrard & Co. (successors to Rundells as Crown Jewellers). They were used either for the new collet diamond necklace or in the reconstituted Regal Circlet (dismantled in 1937 to form the new crown of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother). Edited: The official order of service refers to the cap worn by the King to the Abbey as the Cap of State. Checking various references, it seems it has also been known as Cap of Estate ay some coronations. The king wears the Cap of State on leaving the Palace for the Abbey and Queen Elizabeth is bareheaded.

I contacted Bentley and Skinner about this, and they also believe that the tiara being worn is a match for the one that they currently have in stock. They are currently trying to contact who they purchased it from, to track down the original owner and provenance. I think Queen Maud had worn her weddinggift pearl tiara at her parents coronation. Still the emerald parure is grander so im glad the crownprincess got to borrow it from her mother.
