Can't explain why, but I thought of the Diamond Diadem, to be flashing so much in a five minute walk down a corridor. And she had two pages so it must be the parliamentary robe or Garter regalia. After reading an article in The Australian this Monday, it seems it will be a very relaxed portrait all about inner self and showing a more personal view of HM. Not sure how he will achieve this with a one hour sitting. Painting the Queen in Garter robes would make no sense to me, if the portrait is meant to remain in Australia. Nor would it signalise her in her capacity as Queen of Australia, but as Queen of a foreign realm. I do hope it to be a regal depiction. I can't think of anything requiring two pages that would represent the Queen of Austalia. Indeed Nellie! And September is not thet far after all... And here in Perth the twister and crazy wind season will be over by then...lol.. In any case, i cannot wait to see the painting. Wishful thinking, but zero chance of happening, but wouldn't it be great if the powers that be designed a Sovereign's Mantle for the Order of Australia in Honour of the Jubilee? Two questions that come out of this news: (1) Is it a fair assumption that the Waleses will now tour Australia and NZ in October?
