Does anyone recognize who this Royal lady is and which jewels she might be wearing...I hope someone can recognize her thanks.

I believe that's Queen Draga of Serbia. She and her husband the king were assassinated in early 1900's, marking the end of the dinasty Petrovich Niegos. The present dinasty was the following. I know nothing of her jewelry, most likely is lost since they had no children nor heirs. Thanks a million Cristina and Lorenzo I really appreciate your response would you know if Serbian Royal family ever had miniature "Family" portraits, just like they have it in Danish Royal family? Can anyone recognize this Princess? The painting was done in 1896 when she was 18 years old...so she was born in 1878..Do we know of any Princesses being born in 1878...maybe her tiara can give away who she is?....Thanks again

I am assuming that she is a Princess..judging by the year it was painted and the fact that she is wearing a tiara and she is 18, must have been someone important turning 18 and having miniature portrait of them painted. I thought it could be princess Ingeborg too and I've found this picture of her where she's wearing an unknown tiara and two of the stars queen Louise, princess Helena and Alix zu Castell-Castell have worn as a tiara. I think it is Alexandra of Edinburgh. In those days an eighteen-year-old would not have worn a tiara unless she was married. Alexandra married in 1896, a few months prior to her eighteenth birthday (apparently over the objections of her grandmother Queen Victoria), so the portrait was likely done later in the year. There is a small photo of her and her sisters on Wikipedia and there is a resemblence to Tamara's portrait.

I know the birth year of these princesses does not match your information Tamara, but to me this lady resemble the daughters of Princess Helene of GB, Princesses Helene and Marie Louise. I remember seeing a picture of an old Princess Marie Louise with a young Pss Anne where she is wearing a similar diamond tiara never identified. Yes, to be 100% sure we would need more evidence, like identifying the tiara. If it really is Ingeborg, it would be very strange that she is wearing a completely unknown tiara. ...what an ingtriguing mystery!
