This is gorgeous !
A while back someone introduced "http://www.jigsawplanet.com/" to one of the message boards. There is a function to create your own jigsaw puzzle. I especially enjoy running the banners through this program. I am looking forward to a half hour of fun today putting this one together.
And aren't many of these items on display in the palace now ? (though not all I think)
--Previous Message-- : How wonderful to see another stunningly : beautiful banner by your hand here too, : BarbaraD! : A feast for the eye : Thanks so much !!! : : : : : :
Thank you all for your kind words of appreciation! I'm happy you like the banner !
@LittleMo: You're right, some of the items are on display at BP's exhibition, yet not all. The Greville tiara isn't, as well as the Nizam of Hyderabad Roses (the remains of that lovely tiara...), the Lover's Knot brooch, the Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace and the Maple Leaf brooch aren't on display either. Yet the Coronation necklace, the Coronation earrings, the Williamson brooch and HM's 'Best Diamonds', the South Africa necklace and bracelet (the banner contains only the necklace) are included in the exhibition.
The banner can somehow be read as a part of my 'wish-list' for the exhibition - albeit an interesting and (at least for me) quite misterious piece is missing: The Cockade brooch... (I haven't found a fitting image to use in the banner). I still lament the total lack of information about this jewel in Robert's book (it is pictured several times but never mentioned) and am afraid, that the Souvenir Album from the Royal Collection won't provide more information about it, too.

Thanks for the explanation Barabara, what a lovely way to show your wish list.
The one I am looking forward to seeing is the Durbar tiara.
(are you in the UK so will you get to the Palace yourself ?)
