and it can easily compete with Swedish Braganca tiara of Queen Silvia This is my favorite photo of Grand Duchess Maria Theresa...that is the best hairstyle she had for this particular tiara..she looked amazing. Thank you very much for all your pictures, this is indeed a fabulous piece, I dare to say the most stunning of the Luxembourg collection. I agree with Tamara, this was best worn by GD Maria Teresa with this particular hair style, it looked more balenced. I think we can agree that these 2 are very big tiaras... The Swedish tiara is one 'massive piece' The Luxembourg tiara looks like it could easily be divided from the base (a little like the Girls of GB tiara) - making it a little smaller - and perhaps a little more wearable...

When first seen on Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, the brooch was generally believed to have been an épaulette originally. Most likely correct, but was there any further information about its provenance, or pictures of previous royal ladies wearing the piece?
