King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands hosted a dinner for 150 Dutch persons to celebrate his 50th birthday in the Royal Palace on April 28, 2017 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Great outfit. I just would have loved her to wear the entire ears of wheat tiara. No idea what she is wearing tonight. The king is celebrating a private party in the stables of Noordeinde Palace and many Dutch and foreign Royals are attending we have no idea what they wear. The Queen looks very nice and the jewelry accessorizing is wonderful, but, the King has a child like bad haircut. He should up his game with a better hair cut, style, and some hair product. Stunning dress! I was very interested in Gert-Jan's post regarding the ears of wheat hair ornaments worn by Queen Maxima. Can the Dutch ears of wheat tiara be dismantled and the individual elements used separately? Or is it that, whenever we see photos of the Dutch royal ladies with ears of wheat hair ornaments, the elements have come from the dismantled brooch?

The ears of wheat Queen Maxima has used as hairpins of brooches on her hat came from the dismantled brooch. I don't think they were epaulettes. If you look at this close up photo from Mode Koningin Maxima, you can see that it's two different stones in a checkerboard pattern. The second gemstone has a kind of greenish brown color. Mode Koningin Maxima - Creatie Koningin Maxima 29 april + juwelen 28 april Also, according to Mode Koningin Maxima they were first worn in 2006 and Queen Maxima is the only member of the family to have worn them.
