Queen Máxima is wearing the full version of the Württemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara at tonight’s State Banquet for Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam! Princess Beatrix (in the Aquamarine Tiara) and Princess Margriet (wearing the Dutch Laurel Wreath Tiara) are also present.

Wonderfull! Still one of the best and most versatile pearl tiaras out there. Not the full version though. We will have to wait for that one a bit longer!. Love the five (!) strings of pearls: very lush. Lovely to see the Laurel Wreath worn again! Such a delicate and important piece! Beatrix in Aquamarines: reminiscent of her mother wearing them when she was older. Nice! She was also wearing a delicate brooch with a large diamond which I believe was taken from Wilhelmina's Wedding Gift tiara as a pendant. The very impressive pearl necklace Queen Maxima is wearing, must be the five rows of pearls, from Queen Sophie, inherited & bequeathed later (1884) by prince Alexander. (details about this bequest in the book by René Brus, 1996, p 18) It seems the first time this heavy necklace reappears !
