You'll find gorgeous photos - both formal and informal - of Queen Margrethe, Princess Benedikte, Queen Anne-Marie and Queen Ingrid as well as their husbands and children. The text is in Danish, but the pictures speak for themselves.

Wonderful portraits! Most of them already known, but there are two absolutely stunning pictures new to me: the young Queen Anne Marie wearing the rubi parure, and Pss Benedikte in yellow dress.

Are there any other source in the internet where We can see these portraits in more detail? Thanks.

Well, the internet is not always the solution

Those who own a copy of this book will be able to enjoy three different versions of the said portrait of young Anne-Marie with the rubies and many other little-known photos.

You're right of course Stig, this book surely is a treasure of stunning images many unseen so far, I only meant those ones I mentioned are the only ones I had not seen before "circulating" on the internet, and they are truly beautiful pictures.

Thank you, Stig. Could you say what is written generally in the text accompanying the photography, eg. when the photography was taken, the occasion etc.

I imagine Thyge has paid a substantial sum to use the photographs as they would most likely be under copyright.

I will have to check if it is still the case that books ordered outside of Denmark have the tax deducted from the quoted price. It helps to pay for the shipping.

Thyge Christian Fønss-Lundberg, who is a friend of this message board, has made a new beautiful book (400 pages) with nearly 300 big portraits of the extended Danish royal family - almost all taken by photographer Rigmor Mydtskov (1925-2010) and the rest taken by her son Martin Mydtskov Rønne between 1963 and 2020.

100 of the photos show royal ladies with tiaras, so the book might be of interest to many of you who can't get enough of gala portraits You'll find gorgeous photos - both formal and informal - of Queen Margrethe, Princess Benedikte, Queen Anne-Marie and Queen Ingrid as well as their husbands and children. Always the date, location, camera and occasion - as well as some kind of description of the photo, for instance focusing on the person’s posture, expression, jewels and attire - or information about a painting in the background and maybe an anecdote relating to the picture.
The book also contains an interesting conversation between the author, Mrs. Mydtskov's son, her assistant and the Queen's hairdresser.
