Catholic queens only wear white dresses for the coronations or official visit to the Pope Previous Message I think I was still expecting the Catholic queens to observe their privilege of white, even at this most somber of occasions. White is also a mourning color.

The black veil was a good choice with her diamond & pearl earrings from the late Queen Fabiola and her pearl choker. I must confess….. HM Queen Mathilde looks very regal!

The pearl choker was seen before her engagement to Prince Philippe. A lot of Belgian ladies are wearing the same. I don't know if they are real akoya pearls ??
