Visitor just fillet out a "caught below Hog Creek Landing" chinook on my front lawn this morning. Flesh wasn't bad color. He's going to smoke it. Caught it on a green-bladed spinner fished deep in the (conflicting currents) hole at the Ennis Riffle. Said he also picked up a hatchery steelhead with a black jig fished below a float in the same location yesterday morning.
Remember when we met at Tou Velle Park? I was there yesterday and noted a few spawning salmon splashing around out there in the river flat. Not quite the number of fish we saw spawning on that day...back when? Couple of years ago?
Fresh fish are headed to the upper Rogue. I can just feel it. Coho and B-run steelhead in a couple weeks...
