Yes, I was using all my "new" equipment. Dumb thing was that long ago last year I had tied the flyline on to the backing with a nail knot. Worked well for all of the summer steelhead season. Never had a problem before and fish went into the backing many times. However, now I say, "Never use a nail knot for steelhead!"
An arbor knot is the only way to go!!!
