Still waiting for a good surge of fish. I guess that is going to come in June as in years past. Presently the salmon count at Gold Ray Dam on the Rogue has risen to above 1,300 fish. Not a big number for this time of year. The volume of water flowing downstream is good. Look at that clear water flow right up on to the bank...
The flow has been way over 4,000 CFS. I did not see any chinook moving today. The river was not hard to fish with the fly, as long as you picked the right spot.
I cast a large fly and a small one.
The river and valley are alive with the beauty of mid-Spring. Get out and enjoy it if you can...
