I've made a couple surveys of the upper Rogue River during the last week. Good news is that I'm over a bad summer cold and I feel up to it now. Bad news is that the effort is not worth it. And I really put in the effort searching. Friday was a near perfect day with cooler temperatures and overcast skies. I wanted some fresh fillets. Trouble is that the bite is not there yet. The trout are even fickle to the fly right now. I'd give it a good week and a half or so and then watch the success ratio go up! RG
