There is now a lot of smoke from the new, local fires here in the Rogue Valley to add to the discomfort of the late day heat. Brings to mind that observation of Ray Bergman in Chapter 13 Steelheads of the Umpqua from his great book Trout..."There were a great many forest fires at the time..."
