From everything I've heard and read, "All Shook Up" was the first rock 'n' roll record played on CHUM shortly after 6 a.m. on May 27, 1957 (Alan Ferrell's CHUM book has a good account of the early days). It was the number-one song on CHUM at the time - the first number-one song on the CHUM Chart.
In any case, Phil Stone wouldn't have played it. Phil Ladd would have - he was the morning man at CHUM at the time. Stone was from 1-5 p.m. Now it's possible that "Rock Around the Clock" was the first song played on HIS show, but I don't know.
