Ask Pat Holiday (at the time, working at CKLW)about penning the lyrics to 'Minnie Ha Ha' by Fantacy Hill, a Detroit-based act on Prodigal. And with the band recording across the river in Windsor, it made the track two parts CANCON. Don't think it got a lot of radio play, but it was a great way to skirt the CANCON issue at the time. (Submitted with all due respect to Pat, who is a great broadcaster and a wonderful guy).
There are a lot of fascinating stories about how stations skirted the CANCON issue.
