i strongly disagree. in my opinion, you're loosing site of what a brand is. it's a name. do you really think the average listener sits and ponders what it means? what do kleenex, honda, toshiba... et al really mean? people think about content and how it's marketed. at least with a heritage brand (such as cfrb) you're starting with something to build on. dumping the brand sends the wrong signals. make interesting programming changes, market properly and stay proud. new pd's + old worn out phrases is not the solution. yes, i've been involved in broadcasting for a number of years but i've also been a client of 'rb on occasion and what i've been seeing lately isn't anything to get excited about (imho). c'mon, there must be some new ideas out there somewhere!
