I believe the main reason for this change is a format change, what they come up with, will be interesting as every format is covered. All of the JACK formats, JOE formats are beginning to suffer. We all figured this novelty would end sooner or later, soon in some markets, later, in Vancouver's case. Why they decided to do this mid ratings, beats me, this should have been done before ratings. Depending on how many total people were let go, this savings would be a lot more than 100k. I assume they kept Larry & Willy (and thankfully they did, they have a great show that is workable on any format) because of some iron contracts which would cost them too much to get out of. Should be interesting to see what they do hear, unless they did some market research which found out listeners don't like announcers, which I never believable...yes listeners can get sick of announcers, but generally only certain ones...any format thoughts? Wonder if this will happen in Calgary. What's next, the BOB formats going jockless?
